Generals Hope to Keep Momentum

The Eugene Generals (4-4) will host the Tri-City Titans (3-6) in a rematch of the NOR PAC 2005-06 Western Division Championship Series. The Generals defeated the Titans 3-1 to earn their spot in the Cascade Cup Championship Series. However, this is a different year, and two different teams. At this time last year the Generals were 8-0 and leading the NOR PAC standings, while the Titans were 5-4. This year the Generals and Titans are fighting for the fourth place position in the Pacific Division.

“These are two crucial games for us,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We’re coming off of a big win, and we need to keep the ball rolling. The Titans never an easy team to beat last season, and I have a feeling this season will be no different.”

All six of the Titans losses this season have been at the hand of the top three teams in the Pacific Division (Fort Vancouver, Puget Sound, and Seattle), and the Titans will be looking to come away from this weekend with a couple of wins. The Generals have also fallen to the top three teams in the Division, and will be looking to gain some much needed ground.

The Generals will have to play like they did last Saturday against the Tomahawks if they want to come away with 4 valuable points this weekend. Last Saturday was the first full game the Generals have played this season, and it showed. The Generals dominated every aspect of the game, including the one that mattered. They came away with an 8-1 victory, and were never threatened during the course of the game. If the Generals played like that every game it would be tough for any team to beat them.

“I feel like we’re ready to go on a roll,” Generals forward Lucas Romero said. “Everything just finally clicked against the Tomahawks, and it felt great. I think things are starting to fall into place on the team, and if that happens we will be dangerous.”

The Generals will host the Tri-City Titans this Friday and Saturday at 7:35 at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals will also host the Puget Sound Tomahawks Monday, October 16th at 5:15 PM. The games this weekend will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games or GiTV please visit
