Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals regained sole possession of first place in the NOR-PAC Western Division with a 4-1 win tonight against the River City Jaguars at Lane Events Center-Ice. The win also places the Generals in a tie for first in NOR-PAC with the Queen City Cutthroats. “I’m happy with the overall outcome,” Generals Coach Chris Hartly stated. “There were bits and pieces I wasn’t happy with, but we were able to come out on top and get the two much needed points.”
River City scored the only goal of the first period, but it was all Generals after that. Lucas Romero scored his first goal in a Eugene Generals uniform 16:10 into the second period with the assists coming from Trevor Johnson and Matt Vasilie. Alex Ironside assisted Larry Dankenbring 1:44 into the third to open the scoring for the Generals in the third period. Brad Meyers scored a power play goal from behind the net 11:29 into the third to give the Generals a 3-1 lead. Kevin Crawford assisted Paul Martin 13:39 to give the Generals a 4-1 lead, and put the final nail in the coffin for the Jaguars.
