The Eugene Generals (25-11) are going on the road to face the Crusaders of Kent (0-33) this weekend. The Generals get back the five players that played on the 2006 National Junior B Showcase winning NOR-PAC team, and are looking forward to getting those players back on the ice for the final eight games of the regular season. “Six of our eight remaining games are against playoff bound teams,” Generals Head Coach Robert Freeland stated. “We need to finish strong so we can enter the playoffs on a hot streak and playing our best hockey.”
The Generals have defeated Kent in their first five meetings by a combined score of 54-7, but the Crusaders are hungry for the first victory of the year, and for the franchise. Kent hosts River City tonight, which might be their best chance at achieving their goal. It is not likely that they will get a win in their final meeting of the season with the first year Eugene Generals, who are in first place in the NOR-PAC Western Division. The Generals will have to stay focused, and not overlook the Crusaders.
