Jay Miller, Head Coach jmiller@eugenegenerals.com

This will be Coach Miller's second year as the Head Coach, and his fourth year with the Generals. Miller led the Generals to franchise records in wins, consecutive wins, consecutive home wins, and consecutive road wins in his debut campaign. Miller, a Colorado native, played his youth hockey in Arvada. He then played for the University of Colorado where he served as player/president of the Buffalo's National Championship team in 2004. Miller has close relationships with coaches at every level in Junior hockey, as well as all levels of collegiate hockey. He prides himself on his ability to get exposure for his players to move on to higher levels of hockey.

Chris Bilder, Assistant Coach cbilder@eugenegenerals.com

This will be Bilder's second year as Assisstant Coach, and his sixth year with the Generals. Bilder will also be serving his fifth year as the Public Relations Director for the team. In the past Bilder has served as the Marketing Director, and last season he was the Executive Producer for the Generals internet broadcast (GiTV). During the season, Bilder will head film sessions with the team, as well as running team building excercises. Bilder played his youth hockey in Eugene. Bilder made the transition to coaching to allow him to be more hands on with the players, and his four years of previous experience with the team gives him the knowledge to excel at the position.

Brent Seidel, Assistant Coach & Goaltending Instructor bseidel@eugenegenerals.com

This will be Brent's first year as Assistant Coach with the Generals. A goalie, he will also be the in charge of goaltending development for the franchise. Brent played with the Generals in 2005-06 where the Generals went to the Finals of the Cascase Cup. He posted a .899 save percentage and a 3.26 goals against average both among the top of the league for that season. After Juniors, Brent attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA and played Division II Club hockey where lead the team to a 3rd place National standing in his freshman year. He also won MVP honors for the West Division in his junior year.

Brent majored in Community Health and plans to start a long term coaching career with the hope of one day landing a college coaching job. Brent also works with the Jamie Store Goaltending Camp, Pac West Goaltending Camp, and with SAYHA (Spokane Amateur Youth Hockey Association), as a goaltending instructor for the past seven years.

Dr. Garreth Macdonald, Trainer

Dr. Macdonald is a licensed chiropracter in the city of Eugene. This is his third year as team trainer and will assist in both on and off-ice injuries sustained during practices and games.


Dr. Paul Bilder, M.D.,Team Physician pbilder@eugenegenerals.com

Dr. Bilder graduated from Albany Medical College in New York State and completed his internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and intensive care training at the University of Utah in 1976. He has practiced in Oregon ever since. He has been involved with lacrosse since 1965 and coached and played in New York, Utah, LA, and Oregon. He is presently one of the coaches in the lacrosse program at Roseburg high school. He has had intimate knowledge of sports injuries since 1969 and has helped with team medical problems since that time. Dr. Bilder has volunteered as the Eugene Generals team physician and goal judge since its inception in 2005. His sons have been involved with the Eugene Generals in management and play.

Dr. Michael Koester, Team Orthopedic Physician

Dr. Koester, a nonsurgical sports medicine specialist, specializes in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. He is trained in both pediatric and adult sports medicine, but has a special interest in the evaluation and care of injuries in young children and adolescents. Not limited to musculoskeletal injuries, Dr. Koester also directs the Slocum Sports Concussion Program. His areas of expertise in the active adult population are knee, shoulder, and running injuries. Natives of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Koester and his wife are happy to be back in Oregon to raise their three children.
