Generals Remain Undefeated in Pink

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (9-3) brought their record in pink jerseys to 3-0 tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice when they defeated the Tri-City Titans (8-5) 9-2. The Generals were also able to break the franchise’s consecutive wins record on the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Prime Med Medical Clinic. The Generals have now won nine straight, and move into sole possession of second place in the NORPAC Pacific Division.

“Tonight I saw flashes of the team I know we can be,” Generals interim Head Coach Jay Miller stated. “We played good hockey against a good opponent, and came out on top. We face that same tough team tomorrow, and hopefully we can have the same type of performance tomorrow that we did tonight.”

The Titans were able to put two in the net in the first period, but that would be the end of the scoring for Tri-City. The Generals were able to put up seven unanswered goals in the second and third periods. This was the first win for the Generals against a team with a winning record, and the win was even sweeter because the Titans were the last team to defeat the Generals more than a month ago.

Clayton Lewis was the star of the game for the Generals with three goals and one assist. Seven other Generals had multiple point nights on the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Prime Med Medical Clinic. Trent McKee had one goal and two assists. Neil Holder, Brendan Elkins, Kyle Mills and Steven Slattery each had one goal and one assist. Justin Adams had three assists on the night, and Ben Wilks had two assists. Dylan Woodring had another spectacular night in net, stopping 38 of the 40 shots he faced.

Six breast cancer awareness jerseys are still up for bid on eBay. The Generals will face the Tri-City Titans again tomorrow at 7:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice. The game will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on the jersey auction, upcoming games and GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
