Tough Guys Wearing Pink

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (8-3) will be donning pink jerseys for the third time in the three year history of the franchise tomorrow at Lane Events Center-Ice at 7:35 PM when they face the Tri-City Titans (8-3) for the 3rd Annual Eugene Generals Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Prime Med Medical Clinic.

The pink jerseys are currently being auctioned off on eBay, with the proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. The Generals have donated over $6,500 to the American Cancer Society in the past three years, and hope to be able to significantly increase that amount this year. The event will include a special National Anthem singer as well as have booths from the American Cancer Society and Prime Med Medical Clinic that will have information on breast cancer.

“Everybody in our organization, including the players, is extremely excited to be wearing pink jerseys and supporting a great cause tomorrow,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak stated. “Breast cancer affects so many people, and we want to do our part to help fight this terrible disease. The Generals encourage any woman over 40, or at increased risk, to get a mammography tomorrow, which is National Mammography Day, and come to our game in the evening to support breast cancer awareness.”

The event tomorrow is also a key game for the Generals. The Generals haven’t lost a game in over a month, and will be facing a Titans team who gave them their last loss. The Generals are now tied with the Titans for second place in the NORPAC Pacific Division, after eight consecutive wins, and have the opportunity to avenge their last loss and take over second place in one game. The Titans are a very physical and talented team, and always give the Generals a run for their money.
