Generals Come Away with Another Victory
Eugene, OR- The Generals are starting to click as a team as they came away with another victory tonight defeating the Rogue Valley Wranglers by a score of 9-4. The game was a lot closer than the score reads however; Rogue Valley was in the game until the final period with the game being tied 4-4 early in the third. Fatigue took its toll on the Wranglers though, as the Generals racked up five unanswered goals to finish the game. With the win the Generals improve their record to 2-3 while Rogue Valley falls to 0-4.
“Tonight the guys really started to show some good chemistry,” Eugene Generals Coach Chris Hartly stated. “Passes are starting to hit the mark and our plays are starting to get executed. We still have lots to learn and more things to get right, but at least we are making improvements and moving in the right direction.”
The Generals came out strong again in the first period scoring three goals. They still have yet to put together a full game though, letting the Wranglers back in the game during the second period. With the team chemistry coming along strong it shouldn’t take long for the Generals to put together a full game and that’s when they will be a force to recon with. The Generals will still need to work in staying out of the penalty box as they accumulated 44 minutes in penalties, but that will come with time and experience. The Generals special teams play continued to improve not allowing a power-play goal for the first time all season.
Tyler Tymchuck led the way for the Generals accumulating two goals and two assists on the night while Justin Adams came away with another three point night accumulating one goal and two assists respectively.
The Generals will look to continue their winning ways next weekend as they travel to Coeur d’Alene Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th. Both games will be broadcast live audio on GiTV at 7:30PM. For more information on upcoming games, GiTV and the online ticketing promotion please visit eugenegenerals.com.
