Eugene, OR -At 7:35 p.m. Saturday, the Eugene Generals will face the Southern Oregon Spartans in their first home game of the 2011-12 season at the Lane County Ice Arena.
By the time the Generals return to Eugene Friday night they will have one game under their belts, and the 2011-12 season will be underway. Hours after their arrival, the Generals will take to the ice yet again, but this time they will be playing in front of the Generals faithful.
Saturday’s home opener is guaranteed to be an action filled night.
Upon arrival to the rink spectators and fans will have the opportunity to meet local Eugene sports mascots; Victor E. and Sluggo. Both mascots will be in the concourse of the arena. While in the concourse area, all attendees will have the chance to learn about the first annual Generals Hockey Nights for Education as well.
As the stands begin to fill, both mascots will retire from the concourse area, and take to the ice. While on the ice, Victor E. and Sluggo will be entertaining the crowd with wacky events and fan giveaways.
After the conclusion of pregame warm-ups, there will be a montage, highlight video that will create an electric environment. Once everyone in attendance is on the edge of their seats with anticipation, the Generals will take to the ice.
Saturday’s 7:35 p.m. game will not be a game to miss. Tickets are $5 for seniors and students, $8 for adults, admission is free for all children under five, and the game will be well worth the price of admission. Be here at the Lane County Ice Arena when the puck hits the ice, and the Generals take on the Spartans for the second time of the season.
