Generals Crush Wranglers on Fan Appreciation Night

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (39-10) upended the Rogue Valley Wranglers (8-38) 9-1 on Fan Appreciation Night at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals are now 8-0 against the Wranglers on the season, and 26-0 all-time against the team from Medford, OR. The Generals will finish their regular season tomorrow night in Medford against the Wranglers.

“We played a good game tonight,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated after the contest. “We were doing the little things right, and that is what allowed us to put up so many points. We had a great crowd cheering us on for Fan Appreciation Night, and I hope they’re that rowdy for the playoffs next week. We can’t take Rogue Valley for granted tomorrow, however, and we must focus on ending the regular season the right way.”

The Generals started the scoring with only 36 seconds remaining in the first period. The Generals first goal was scored by Sean Park and assisted by Tyler Poulsen. Poulsen would get one of his own 2:43 into the second, and Ryan McDonald was credited with the assist. Rouge Valley would make the score 2-1, but that would be the end of the scoring for the Wranglers on the night.

Arram Chinarian and Christian Merritt assisted Ryan McDonald just 20 seconds later to give the Generals back their two goal lead. McDonald and Theo Campe assisted Jordan Blake-Jones 7:25 into the period for the Generals fourth goal of the night. McDonald and Blake Bishop assisted Eric Watters 11:18 into the second to make it 5-1. Brayden Lahti and Theo Camp assisted Blake Bishop 18:29 into the third for the Generals fifth goal of the period.

The Generals would put three more in the net in the third period. Ryan McDonald assisted Brad Main 8:17 into the third on the power play to make it 7-1. The Generals would score their second power play goal of the night 8:57 into the third when Sean Park and Theo Campe assisted Christian Merritt. Eric Watters would score the final goal of the game 13:49 into the third on the power play, and the assist went to Brad Main.

The Generals will travel to Medford, OR tomorrow for their final game of the regular season at 8:00 PM. The game will be broadcast on EGHN in audio only. For more information on upcoming games or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
