Generals to Host Rogue Valley for Fan Appreciation Night
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (36-10) will host the Rogue Valley Wranglers (8-38) tomorrow night at 7:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice for the Generals 5th Annual Fan Appreciation Night. The Generals have already clinched the nine game season series with the Wranglers, but they have a chance to sweep their third consecutive season series with two wins this weekend.
“Rogue Valley has become a much tougher opponent than they used to be,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated. “We can’t just show up and win anymore. They are a talented team that can steal a game away from us if we’re not careful. We also have a lot of things we need to button up before the playoffs start on Tuesday. We’re taking these games seriously, but we’re also going to be using this weekend as preparation for next week.”
The Generals, who are now 36-10 on the season, have a chance to tie the franchise record for wins in a season with a sweep this weekend. The mark was set by the 2008/09 Generals. The 2009/10 Generals have already set the franchise record for consecutive home wins (10) this season, and they set the franchise record for most consecutive wins (15).
The Generals will have many festivities for Fan Appreciation tomorrow night. There will be multiple giveaways during the contest, an autograph session after the game and a skate with the Generals after the game. This will be the last home regular season game for Generals captain Neil Holder, assistant captain Eric Watters and starting goaltender Dylan Woodring, who will all be aging out this season.
The game tomorrow night against the Rogue Valley Wranglers at 7:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice will be broadcast on EGHN. The Generals final game of the regular season on Saturday in Medford, OR at the RRRink at 8:00 PM against the Wranglers will be broadcast in audio only on EGHN.
