Generals Announce Playoff Schedule

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (36-10) will play two more NORPAC Regular Season games before they face the Tri-City Titans (23-23) in the Pacific Division Semi-Final series. The Generals swept the Titans this weekend in their final two meetings of the regular season.

“It is a great accomplishment for our franchise to reach the playoffs in every one of our five seasons in NORPAC,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak said. “We take great pride in the development of our players, and with one of the youngest, if not the youngest, team in NORPAC. We are looking forward to a great series with Tri-City, and we’re hoping we will go further than we have gone in franchise history.”

The Generals will have home-ice advantage during the 2-2-1 best of five series. The first game will be held in Eugene at Lane Events Center-Ice on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:50 PM. The Generals will also host the Titans on Wednesday, February 24 at 7:35 PM.

The Generals will then travel to Kennewick, WA for the third game, which will be held at Toyota Arena at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 25. The fourth game of the series, if necessary, will be held at Toyota Arena on Friday, February 26 at 4:00 PM. If it is necessary, the Generals will travel home for a fifth and deciding game on Sunday, February 28 at 4:30 PM.

This will be the third time in five seasons that the Generals and Titans have met in the postseason. The Generals were able to walk away with a 3-1 series victory in the 2006 Pacific Division Finals, and the Titans were able to come away with a 3-1 victory in the 2008 Pacific Division Semi-Finals.

“The Titans are a great opponent, and we are very excited to see them in the first round,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated. “They are a tremendously coached team, and they have a lot of talent on their roster. We will have to be at the top of our game if we want to return to the Pacific Division Finals for the first time in three seasons.”

The Generals won the nine game season series 7-2. Six of the nine games have been decided by two goals or fewer, however, and the Titans have given the Generals three of their four OT games this season. The Titans won the first OT game 5-4 in the first overtime, the Generals defeated the Titans 4-3 in their only shootout game of the season, and the Generals beat the Titans 3-2 in OT last night.

The home playoff games between the Generals and Titans will be broadcast on EGHN. The away playoff games between the two teams will be broadcast in audio only on EGHN. For more information on the playoffs or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
