Generals Top Titans 4-1

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (35-10) defeated the Tri-City Titans (23-22) 4-1 tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice in a prequel to the Pacific Division Semi-Final series. The Generals now only have three more games until the playoffs begin, and one of those games will be tomorrow afternoon against the Titans.

“I was proud of how we finished the game tonight,” Generals assistant coach Chris Bilder stated after the game. “Tri-City played a very good game, but we prevailed in the end. I would like to have a little more cushion heading into the final two minutes, and I would like to see us play a more complete game, but I’m happy with the two points. Tomorrow we have to button a few things up, and I expect our boys to do just that.”

The Generals started the scoring 2:19 into the first period when Ryan McDonald scored an unassisted power play goal. The Generals would take a two goal lead 10:36 into the frame with a shorthanded goal by Christian Merritt, and the goal was assisted by Theo Campe.

The Generals would fail to score in the second, and Tri-City would make it a one goal game. The Generals regained their two goal lead 17:36 into the third period when Neil Holder and Arram Chinarian assisted Brad Main. Chinarian would ice the game for the Generals 18:17 into the third with an unassisted emptynet goal. Dylan Woodring was stellar in net for the Generals saving 36 of the Titans 37 shots in the game.

The Generals will face the Tri-City Titans again tomorrow night at 4:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice for their final meeting before the playoffs. The game will be broadcast on EGHN. For more information on upcoming games or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
