Generals Thump Wrangelrs
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (34-10) defeated the Rogue Valley Wranglers (7-38) for the seventh consecutive time this season, and twenty-fifth time overall 6-2 tonight in Medford, OR. The Generals will face the Wranglers in their final two games of the 2009/10 NORPAC Regular Season, and they lead the season series 7-0.
“We played two great periods of hockey tonight,” Generals assistant coach Chris Bilder stated. “We had another lull in the second period, but we rebounded well in the third. Right now we have to focus on tomorrow night and the Tri-City Titans.”
The Generals went 1-3 on the power play, and the Wranglers were 1-4. Mario Retana had 31 saves in the victory to earn his seventh win of the season.
Brad Main and Eric Watters led the way for the Generals with three points a piece. Main had two goals and an assist, and Watters had a goal and two assists. Two other Generals had multiple point nights. Sean Park scored a goal and added an assist, and Ian Evans put up two assists. Justin Huelsman and Peter Mingus had goals on the night, and Arram Chinarian, Blake Bishop, Jordan Blake-Jones and Ryan McDonald each had an assist.
