Generals Drop Third in a Row
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (31-9) dropped their third consecutive game on Sunday in a 4-2 loss against the Tri-City Titans (21-20). Before the weekend the Generals had failed to lose back-to-back games, but they are now looking to break their only losing streak of the season.
“Everybody has bad weekends,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated. “We just had one of those weekends. We have to bounce back, and go back to Generals hockey. We have a great opportunity this weekend with three big games to rebound, and I expect that we will do just that.”
The Generals got off to a hot start in Tri-City. Just 2:02 after the drop of the first puck Sean Park assisted Ryan McDonald to give the Generals a 1-0 lead. The Titans would come back, however, and they would put the next two pucks in the net. The Generals would get the equalizer with 53 seconds remaining in the second period. The goal was scored by Eric Watters, and it was assisted by Brad Main and Neil Holder.
The Titans would get the only two goals scored in the third period, despite being outshot 16-11 by the Generals in the frame. The win gave the Titans their second victory over the Generals this season, and they remain the only Pacific Division opponent, other than the Seattle Totems, to defeat the Generals this season.
The Generals will face the Puget Sound Tomahawks this Thursday in Bremerton, WA at 7:30 PM. The Generals will then travel to Beaverton, OR for two 7:00 PM games against the River City Jaguars on Friday and Saturday. The games will be broadcast on EGHN in audio only.
