Generals Lose Second Straight
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (31-8) lost a 3-0 game to the Seattle Totems (32-8) tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice for Hockey Weekend Across America. The win gives the Totems a 5-4 series win. This was the first time of the season the Generals have lost two consecutive games, and the first time since February 8, 2008 since the Generals have been shut out
“We didn’t play our best game tonight, but we didn’t play our worst game either,” Generals head coach Jay Miller said after the contest. “Average play does not beat exceptional opponents. Seattle played us well, and they capitalized on their opportunities. We have to forget the first two games happened this weekend, and come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow against Tri-City.”
The Generals actually outshot the Totems 44-43 in the game, and both teams went 0-4 on their power play opportunities. The Totems were able to put the puck in the back of the net once in each period. The final goal was scored on an empty net. Generals goaltender Dylan Woodring made 40 saves in the contest, and Totems goaltender Anthony Chimenti saved every one of his 44 shots.
The Generals will travel to Kennewick, WA tomorrow for a 3:00 PM game against the Tri-City Titans. The game will be broadcast in audio only on EGHN. For more information on upcoming games or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
