Generals Clinch First Round Home Ice
Eugene, OR The NORPAC Pacific Division leader Eugene Generals (30-6) clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the NORPAC Pacific Division Playoffs with a 4-2 win over the Tri-City Titans (17-20) tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals were also able to clinch their fourth season series of the year, and now have a 5-1 lead over the Titans in the nine game season series.
Im happy that we were able to come away with two points tonight, Generals head coach Jay Miller stated after the game. Tri-City played us really tough tonight, and we struggled in moments. Right now we have to put this game behind us, and focus on the River City Jaguars tomorrow.
The Generals were able to get on the board early tonight. Sean Park would get the scoring started for the Generals 2:11 into the first period when he received an assist from Brad Main. Ryan McDonald would put the Generals on the board again a little over 30 seconds later with an unassisted goal. The Generals would get their third goal of the first period 6:19 into the frame when Justin Huelsman and Blake Bishop assisted Mat Topolewski.
The Generals would fail to get a goal in the second period, but The Titans were able to cut the lead to one after the end of two. Brad Main would put the game away with a little over two minutes remaining in the contest, and Eric Watters would get the assist. Dylan Woodring made 37 saves on the night.
The Generals will host the River City Jaguars tomorrow night at Lane Events Center-Ice at 7:35 PM. The game will be broadcast on EGHN. For more information on upcoming games or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
