Woodring Blanks Jaguars as Generals Roll
Eugene, OR – Dylan Woodring made 34 saves as he earned his second shutout in as many nights tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice, as the Eugene Generals (16-3) defeated the River City Jaguars (7-13) 4-0. The shutout improves Woodring’s scoreless streak to just over 141 minutes. The Generals are now 4-0 against the Jaguars this season, and have a chance to clinch the nine game season series tomorrow night.
“We didn’t play as well as we did last night, but I can’t really complain about a shutout win,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated. “We need to focus on tomorrow night because River City will come out gunning. The Jaguars came out with a little more fire today, and I expect even more tomorrow. If we can stick to our game plan we should come out on the winning end.”
Blake Bishop assisted Brad Main on the power play with 11 seconds remaining in the first period to get the scoring started for the Generals. Main put the Generals up 2-0 13:12 into the second period, with Tyler Poulsen and Connor Bambico assisting on the play.
The Generals would score their second of three power play goals on the night 5:58 into the final period when Eric Watters and Blake Bishop assisted Ryan McDonald. Bishop would get his third assist of the night, and Poulsen would get his second on a power play goal scored by Neil Holder 12:11 into the third period to put the final nail in the coffin for the Jaguars.
The Generals will host River City tomorrow night at Lane Events Center-Ice at 7:35 PM. The game will be broadcast on EGHN. For more information on upcoming games or EGHN please visit eugenegenerals.com.
