Generals Sweep Jags in Second Home-and-Home

Eugene, OR - The Eugene Generals (9-2) swept the River City Jaguars (4-7) in the second home-and-home series of the season with a 6-3 win tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice. The win keeps the Generals in first place in the NORPAC Pacific Division, as they maintain a two point lead over the Seattle Totems.

“This is the best weekend of hockey we’ve played this season,” Generals head coach Jay Miller stated. “We still have a long way to go, but I feel like we’re getting better every weekend. We have a big weekend next weekend, and we have to start focusing on Seattle right now.”

Christian Merritt led the Generals with two goals and an assist. Neil Holder also had three points with a goal and two assists. Ryan McDonald was the only other Generals player to have a multiple point night with a goal and an assist.

Ray Frianeza and Brad Main had the other two Generals goals, and Mat Topolewski, Tyler Poulsen and Sean Park each had an assist. Nolan Ohmart made 38 saves in the win.
