Generals to End Swing at Puget Sound
Eugene, OR - The NORPAC Pacific Division first place Eugene Generals (16-3) will end their seven game road swing in Bremerton, WA this weekend when they face the third place Puget Sound Tomahawks (9-9) this Friday and Saturday. The Generals have started the swing 5-0, but have only been able to muster a 2-2 record against the Tomahawks this season.
“These two games will be the toughest two games of the swing,” Generals Head Coach Jay Miller stated. “Puget Sound has some great players, and they have given us two of our three losses this season. We’ve been able to put up a lot of points lately, but we have to buckle down on defense.”
The Generals have split each two game weekend series (one in Eugene, OR and one in Bremerton, WA). The away team has won the first game of each weekend series.
The Generals now have five of the top twenty-three scorers in NORPAC. Michael Frei leads the league in points with 46 in 17 games. Michael Schlagel is in fourth with 36 points, Carl Lehtola is tied for ninth with 27 points, Ryan McDonald is tied for fourteenth with 24 points and Kyle Mills is tied for twenty-first with 18 points.
The Generals also have the goaltender with the best statistics in Pacific Division. Kevin Aslett leads the division with a 2.65 GAA and a .931 SV%. He also leads the league with ten wins on the season.
The games this Friday and Saturday at 8:10 PM in Bremerton, WA against the Puget Sound Tomahawks will be broadcast on GiTV in audio only. For more information on upcoming games or GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
