3rd Annual Coach Bobby Skate is Tomorrow

Eugene, OR – The 3rd Annual Coach Bobby Skate to honor and remember Bobby Freeland, and to benefit his family, will be held tomorrow June 28th at Valley Ice Arena in Beaverton, OR from 4:15 PM to 7:15 PM. Doors open at 3:00 PM for registration, and limited spaces are available. A minimum donation is required to play. If players are unable to pay they can bring their gear and wait in the penalty box until a sponsor makes their donation for them. If anyone is not able to attend the event they can donate on Coach Bobby’s memorial web site at www.coachbobby15.com under the donations section.

Bobby Freeland was the Eugene Generals Head Coach in their inaugural season, and led them to within one game of the National Tournament.

“Bobby was more than coach to the Generals,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak said. “He made each and every player feel at home while some were very far away from their homes. He had the unique quality of bringing the most out of players while holding each and every player accountable for their actions. Although I only knew him for a short time, I considered him a close personal friend and mentor. The Generals organization encourages everybody to attend the Skate, and if they can’t attend make a donation.”
