Generals Tender Flores, 2nd of 2008

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals signed Ft. Collins, CO native AJ Flores to a tender late Tuesday afternoon. Flores, a 5-10 155 lb. 17 year old forward, played for the Pikes Peak Minors U18 AAA midget major team last season, and was able to put up eight points in twelve games with the Minors.

“We’re looking for AJ to bring an up-tempo, high energy style to our team,” Generals Interim Head Coach Jay Miller stated. “If he’s able to play with the same type of energy next season that we saw this last weekend he should be able to make an immediate impact on the ice. We’ve focused on bringing in high-character players who have a great work ethic and AJ fits that perfectly.”

The tender is the Generals second overall and second from Colorado. Flores will join defenseman Blake Bishop, who played for the Arapahoe Ice Warriors, on the Generals next season.

“It was a good decision for me to sign a tender with the Generals,” Flores said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what the Generals are like, and seeing what Junior A hockey can bring. I’m going to work hard, and give it my all to help the team in any way possible. If I do that I feel that I will be able to develop a little more, and hopefully move up into the higher Junior ranks as soon as possible.”
