Generals Rolling, Win Tenth in a Row

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (10-3) defeated the Tri-City Titans (8-6) tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice 6-1, and improved their winning franchise record winning streak to ten. The Generals are alone in second place in the NORPAC Pacific Division, and only trail the first place Seattle Totems (12-1) by four points. The Generals will get the chance to tie the Totems for the lead in the Pacific Division when they travel to Seattle, WA next Friday and Saturday for the two teams’ first meeting of the season.

“Fortunately we came out on top with four points this weekend,” Generals interim Head Coach Jay Miller stated. “I was afraid we would have a let down after the big win last night, and we did let down. We should have come out firing after our performance last night, and the fact that the Titans were shorthanded. We walked away with four points on the weekend, and its back to work tomorrow.”

The Generals allowed the Titans to score the first goal of the night, and the only goal of the first period. However, the Generals dominated the second and third periods, and were able to put up six unanswered goals. Generals goaltender Dylan Woodring was the Big Town Hero of the game, stopping 46 of the Titans 47 shots. Woodring has now improved his goals against average to 2.10 (2nd in NORPAC), and improved his save percentage to 94.3% (1st in NORPAC). Woodring has now won his last eight starts, and is a huge reason why the Generals have won ten straight.

Five Generals had multiple point nights. Brendan Elkins scored two goals; Tyler Tymchuk, Justin Adams and Michael Frei had a goal and an assist and Trent McKee had two assists. Neil Holder had a goal on the night, and Kyle Mills, Sean O’Connor, Erik Brody and Steven Slattery each had an assist.

The Generals will face the Seattle Totems next Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM in Seattle, WA. Both games will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games and GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
