Generals Drop Four Straight to Puget Sound
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (28-12) were defeated by the Puget Sound Tomahawks (28-13) tonight 5-6 at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals didn’t play a complete game, and the Tomahawks took advantage of it. “Our guys worked had, but they weren’t playing smart hockey for the first part of the game, and that’s what cost us,” Generals Assistant Coach Chris Hartly stated. “By the time we got going it was just too late.”
Ryan Schank had one goal and added three assists, Matt Vasilie scored two goals, and Ben Tikka and Garrett Bossert each added a goal. Carrick Cristiano Trevor Johnson, Erik Kroll, and Michael Frei each added one assist. This may have been the crucial game that the Generals needed to win to have a chance to win the NOR-PAC Western Division. The Generals never had a lead in the game, but had every opportunity to take the game over and couldn’t convert. The Generals will need to step up their play if they want to beat Puget Sound tomorrow night.
The games this weekend against Puget Sound and River City will be broadcast live on GiTV at 7:35 Saturday, and 12:30 on Sunday on www.eugenegenerals.com. For more information on upcoming Generals games please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
