Generals Crush Titans

Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (26-11) dominated their game against the Tri-City Titans (19-19) tonight 7-1 at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals came out of the gate hard, and kept on coming for the entire game. “We played with a lot of intensity and focus tonight,” Generals Head Coach Robert Freeland stated. “We beat a team that is a lot better than the score reflected.”

Ben Tikka and Garrett Bossert assisted Michael Frei 4:08 into the first period for a power play goal to give the Generals the early lead. Frei would score again 13:32 into the period with the assists going to Erik Kroll and Kris Kranzky. Ryan Schank would put the Generals up 3-0 18:39 into the first, and Matt Vasilie got the assist. The second period only saw two goals, but they were both for the Generals. Chris Orlowsky and Brad Meyers assisted Lucas Romero 0:56 into the period. Romero would get one more 4:14 into the second with the assists going to Orlowsky and Paul Martin. Matt Vasilie scored unassisted 1:42 into the third period to put the Generals up 6-0. Tri-City was finally able to put one past Seidel, but Ryan Schank answered back to put the Generals up 7-1.

Brent Seidel played a terrific game in net saving 19 of 20 shots, and lived up to the hype of his recent success. Potter played average stopping 48 of 55 shots. The game tomorrow should be much tighter game, but if the Generals show up like they did today it could get out of hand.

The game tomorrow against Tri-City will be broadcast live on GiTV at 7:35 on www.eugenegenerals.com. For more information on upcoming Generals games please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
