Generals Hope to Corral Rough Riders
Eugene, OR – The first place Eugene Generals (18-5) will face the Butte Rough Riders (1-24) this weekend at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals are coming off a weekend on the road in Tri-Cities where they split two games with the Tri-City Titans. The Rough Riders should be well rested coming off a buy weekend.
The Generals lost their fifth game of the season on Friday, against Tri-City, but they obtained their first overtime win of the season on Saturday. The win seemed to energize the team, Generals Head Coach Robert Freeland said. “I haven’t seen our guys this pumped up about a win since opening night against Fort Vancouver. I think that energy should carry them for a little while, but we’ll have to stay focused to beat Butte.”
The Rough Riders are on a 15 game losing streak and have lost 24 of their 25 games this season. This Butte team shouldn’t be overlooked, however, as 22 of their 25 games have been against teams in either first or second place in their respective divisions. Butte has also been within two goals of winning in nine of their losses. For more information on upcoming Generals games please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
