Clash of the Unbeaten
Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals will face their strongest opponent to date this weekend in the Puget Sound Tomahawks. The Generals and the Tomahawks are the only two unbeaten teams in the NOR-PAC Western Division, and two of only three unbeaten (Queen City Cutthroats) in NOR-PAC. “This weekend will definitely be a test for us,” Generals Head Coach Robert Freeland stated. “We beat the Tomahawks in the Pre-Season Kickoff Tournament 4-3, but the Tomahawks only brought 12 players; so they should be a lot stronger this weekend.”
Some say the Generals have had an easy start facing the Crusaders of Kent (0-8) in four of their first six games, but despite the easy start the Generals are not to be underestimated. The Generals are still at the top the NOR-PAC standings, and the only undefeated team to play more than five games. The Generals are coming off two convincing wins against the Crusaders of Kent, and are looking to keep the momentum going. “Our guys don’t know what its like to lose yet,” Assistant Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We have a lot of work to do, but I hope they still won’t know what its like to lose after the games this weekend.” The Tomahawks are also coming off a win against Kent, where they won 8-1.
After tonight there will only be one unbeaten team in the Western Division, and it should prove to be an all out dogfight. The puck will drop Friday and Saturday at 7:00 at Bremerton Ice Arena. For more information on upcoming games please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
