EUGENE GENERALS TENDER FORMER LAHA FORWARD

Eugene, OR – A day after tendering their first player, the Eugene Generals continued to move in the right direction. On Wednesday the Generals tendered their second player, former Lane Amateur Hockey Association forward Tyler McCarty.

McCarty, who left Eugene to play for Compuware Midget AAA last year in Detroit, MI, played five seasons for the Lane County Lightning at the Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget levels. “I really enjoyed the time I had in Eugene, and I’m really excited about coming back to play there,” McCarty says.

The 17-year-old McCarty was scouted in Detroit by the Generals’ General Manager Flint Doungchak. “Its great to see a former LAHA player returning to Eugene to play Junior B hockey,” explains Doungchak. “Since moving to Detroit Tyler has taken his game to the next level. With his size, speed and shot he has the ability to change the momentum of a game in an instant.

As a tender, McCarty is guaranteed a spot on the opening night roster. Alongside McCarty will be Ben Tikka, a defenseman from the Alaska All Stars, and 18 other players on the opening night roster in September.
