Player Spotlight- #3 Tyler Poulsen
by Chris Bilder, Generals Staff Writer

Eugene, OR-

Chris Bilder: Describe your experience with the Generals so far.

Tyler Poulsen: It’s been great. Very fun. Playing here has been a big step from where I was playing last year, and I think I’ve really gotten a lot out of the experience.

CB: What is it like to be the youngest player on the team?

TP: It’s kind of tough because other teams just try to hit me as hard as they can because I’m younger and smaller than everybody out on the ice. On the other hand it is really great because I get to gain the experience of playing with much older players.

CB: Coming into this season did you expect to be on one of the top lines on the team?

TP: No. I wasn’t on one of the top lines to begin with, but when I got my shot I took advantage of it. I think I’ve really improved as a player by being on one the top lines.

CB: How do you like playing with Michael Schlagel and Michael Frei?

TP: They’re two of the top scorers in the league, and they really help me out. It’s a great experience. It is a blast to be on the ice with those two.

CB: You have 6 goals and 23 assists this season, including 10 points on special teams. Are you happy with your point production?

TP: Yes. I’ve really improved since the beginning of the season with my point production.

CB: Where would you like to be, in terms of points, at the end of the season?

TP: I would like to be at 40.

CB: What do you think is the best facet of your game?

TP: I think the best part of my game is my skating.

CB: What is one area that you’d like to improve?

TP: Getting more accurate and putting more speed on my passes.

CB: What has been your most memorable moment this season?

TP: There are a lot of good ones, but my most memorable moment this season was Breast Cancer Awareness Night because of all the fans and signing autographs after the game.

CB: Where do you see yourself next season?

TP: I’d like to move to a higher level of Juniors, but I need to get bigger, stronger and faster first.
