Public Releations/Sports Reporter

General Description:
The Eugene Generals is in need of a Public Relations/Sports Reporting intern. We are presenting this internship for two University of Oregon or Lane Community College students. The internship requires some experience with public relations and sports reporting.Classes and certifications qualify as experience. This position will develop content for both the Generals web site and Generals iTV, it's live online video internet broadcast. Content will include game recaps, feature reports, and sideline reporting. In addition, interns will assist the Public Relations Director in the development of Press Release/Events for the Eugene Generals.

This is a hands-on internship and content developed by the interns will be used in day to day operations.

Requirements:
Applicants should be highly motivated and extremely willing to contribute to a hard working, and demanding environment. Interns with a current major in Journalism (Public Relations) prefered but not required. Experience with Microsoft Word, HTML, and general computer experience prefered. Strong writing skills required.

Time Committment:
Interns that can be committed for two terms (or longer) are preferred, but not required. The Generals would prefer to have the same interns for the 2006-07 season through March. Interns can expect to spend about 6 to 9 hours per week during the season. You are expected to attend every home game. Press deadlines are extremely tight and some nights may require working until the late evening (11:30 PM or later.)
