The Eugene Generals and NORPAC are entering their second season at the Tier-III Junior A level. As a part of USA Hockey’s Junior program, Tier-III Junior A hockey is an excellent environment that will prepare elite and motivated players to move on to college, Tier-II and Tier-I Junior A hockey. The Eugene Generals are a part of the Northern Pacific Hockey League (NORPAC), which includes thirteen teams in two divisions (Pacific and Cascade) from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. The Cascade Division teas are: Billings Bulls, Bozeman Icedogs, Butte Rough Riders, Helena Bighorns, Missoula Maulers and Yellowstone Quake. The Pacific Division teams are: Eugene Generals, Coeur d’Alene Lakers, Puget Sound Tomahawks, River City Jaguars, Rogue Valley Wranglers, Seattle Totems and Tri-City Titans. NORPAC is a feeder league for the NAHL, USHL, BCHL, WHL and NCAA Div. I and III collegiate hockey programs. Coaching and Training Staff Our Philosophy From management to coaching, our hockey club is designed to develop a professional experience that meets the goals of USA Hockey. Those goals include: skills development, quality coaching, social maturity, educational advancement, recruiting exposure, advanced competition, and protection of amateur status. Practices, Games, and Facilities Our facility is a high quality, well-maintained arena that seats over 2,700 fans that sits in the middle of a city that has a reputation for strong support of its sports franchises including the University of Oregon, and local high school sports. The Generals averaged over 1000 fans last season between in house fans and Generals iTV live broadcasts. Not Just Hockey in Eugene When not practicing, players can enjoy a vast array of natural activities of the Southern Willamette Valley. Eugene is only an hour away from the coast, and an hour away from the Cascade Mountain range. Some of the activities that Lane County offers are cycling, dune buggy riding, fishing, golfing, hiking, hot springs, rafting, and skiing. This gives players an ideal environment to cross train. For all of the small town feel, Eugene still has all the comforts of a large city including a first-class Performing Arts Center, Large Capacity Mall with national chain stores, and several Cineplex’s (including one with stadium seating). The community of Eugene has embraced the Generals. Throughout the 2006-07 season the Generals had one of the largest fan bases in NOR PAC, and were covered by every major media outlet in the area.
